Overview

ASL Distribution Services is a third-party logistics provider running on the dotwms warehouse management platform. Fulfil's integration sends outbound customer and internal shipments as pack jobs, sends supplier and internal ASNs as receipts, and pushes product master data on request. ASL Distribution has no pull API of its own. Instead of Fulfil polling for updates, ASL Distribution posts tracking confirmations, receiving confirmations, and inventory adjustments back to Fulfil through a webhook you configure during setup.

Setup Instructions

Step 1: Create the ASL Distribution Warehouse in Fulfil

  1. Navigate to Inventory & Stock > Locations
  2. Create a new Warehouse (or open an existing one) and configure:
  3. Warehouse Type: 3PL
  4. 3PL Source: ASL Distribution
  5. Click Create

Step 2: Connect the Integration

  1. Navigate to Settings > General > Integrations
  2. Search for ASL Distribution and open it
  3. Click Connect ASL Distribution and enter your credentials:
  4. Instance Code (separates test and production tenants)
  5. Tenant Code (your merchant identifier within ASL's WMS)
  6. API Key
  7. Click Connect
  8. In the configuration wizard, enter the Warehouse Code ASL assigned to this facility and select the Warehouse you created in Step 1
  9. Click Save

Contact your ASL Distribution representative to obtain your Instance Code, Tenant Code, API Key, and Warehouse Code.

Step 3: Configure the Webhook

ASL Distribution posts tracking, receiving, and inventory confirmations back through a webhook rather than Fulfil polling for them.

  1. Open the ASL Distribution integration record
  2. Copy the Webhook URL shown on the integration page
  3. Click Set token, enter a token of your choosing, and click Save
  4. Share both the webhook URL and the token with your ASL Distribution representative

Webhook requests are rejected with a 401 error until a token is set. To rotate the token, click Replace token and share the new value.

Step 4: Enable Schedulers

On your warehouse location page, click + to add a schedule for each action you want to enable:

  • Send customer shipments: Sends assigned customer shipments as pack jobs
  • Send internal shipments (to shipping 3PL): Sends assigned outbound internal shipments
  • Send supplier shipments: Exports draft supplier shipments as ASNs
  • Send internal shipments (to receiving 3PL): Exports draft inbound internal shipments as ASNs

Select an interval for each schedule and click Save. Tracking numbers, receipts, and inventory adjustments arrive automatically through the webhook, so they don't need schedules.

Lot Tracking on Receipts

Inbound receipt confirmations include lot and batch numbers with expiry dates, recorded against received inventory for full traceability. Enable lot tracking on your product variants before sending products to ASL Distribution.

Automatic Inventory Adjustments

ASL Distribution posts signed adjustments for damages, corrections, and manual changes at the warehouse. Each adjustment is matched to your Fulfil warehouse and applied automatically.

Carrier Mapping

ASL Distribution maps the carrier or SCAC code it returns (UPS, FedEx, Purolator, GLS) to the matching Fulfil carrier. Tracking numbers and connotes are always recorded, even when a returned carrier code falls outside the mapping.

Product Master Data Sync

Push products to ASL Distribution from Products > Products > Actions > Send to 3PL. ASL Distribution requires a packaging type for every product (Cardboard by default); override it with the asl_packaging_type metafield.

Warehouse Transfers

Send inventory between your warehouses and ASL Distribution facilities with automated pack jobs and receipt confirmations for both inbound and outbound transfers.
