Simplify eCommerce Sales Tax with Numeral and Fulfil ERP integration

Overview

Numeral is a sales tax compliance platform that handles tax rate lookup and transaction reporting for tax filing. Fulfil's integration calculates US sales tax in real time on manual orders and automatically sends posted invoices to Numeral for compliance.

Capabilities

Fulfil's Numeral integration supports the following workflows:

• Real-Time Tax Rate Lookup: When creating a manual sales order, Fulfil fetches the applicable tax rate from Numeral based on the order's ship-to address and line items. The returned rate is applied automatically.
• Transaction Reporting: When a customer invoice is posted, Fulfil sends the transaction details to Numeral for tax filing and compliance reporting. This includes the warehouse address, customer shipping address, currency, line item amounts, product SKU, and Numeral product category.
• Shopify Checkout Tax: Numeral calculates tax at Shopify checkout. When orders sync to Fulfil and invoices are posted, Fulfil sends a fresh calculation to Numeral using the actual shipped line items and addresses, recording it as a transaction for compliance. Both Shopify and Fulfil share the same Numeral account.
• Credit Note Reporting: Refunds for credit notes linked to an original invoice are reported to Numeral for accurate tax compliance records.

How It Works

Fulfil sends data to Numeral in two steps:

1. Calculation: Fulfil sends the warehouse address, customer shipping address, currency, line item amounts, product SKU, and product category to Numeral to get the tax rate.
2. Transaction: Once the invoice is posted, Fulfil sends the invoice number and calculation ID to Numeral to record the transaction for filing.

An automation rule triggers the transaction export when invoices are posted.
