Warehouse Management

RFID Scanning Support

Count thousands of items in minutes. RFID eliminates line-of-sight scanning—wave a reader over a shelf and capture every tag instantly.

Why RFID Over Barcodes?

Barcode Counting is Slow

Scanning barcodes one at a time takes hours for large inventories. Each item must be in line-of-sight and scanned individually.

Missed Items

Items behind others, inside boxes, or on top shelves get missed with barcode scanning. Inaccurate counts lead to stockouts and overselling.

Warehouse Disruption

Full physical counts require shutting down operations. Teams spend weekends counting instead of shipping orders.

RFID vs. Barcode Comparison

Same inventory, dramatically different counting experience.

Barcode Scanning

Items per minute 20-30
Line of sight required Yes
Count 10,000 items ~6 hours
Scan through packaging No
Tag cost $0.01

RFID Scanning

Items per minute 200-1,000+
Line of sight required No
Count 10,000 items ~15 minutes
Scan through packaging Yes
Tag cost $0.05-0.15

Common RFID Use Cases

Daily Cycle Counts

Count high-velocity zones daily in minutes instead of hours. Catch discrepancies before they become problems.

Receiving Verification

Scan entire pallet to verify contents against PO. No opening boxes or counting individual items.

Item Location

Can't find an item? RFID reader helps locate it instantly—even if it's in the wrong bin or buried behind other stock.

Apparel & Accessories

Perfect for high-SKU-count apparel. Scan entire rack of clothing without removing items from hangers.

Common Questions

Do all my items need RFID tags?
No. Fulfil supports mixed environments—RFID-tagged items and barcode-only items can coexist. Many brands start by tagging high-value or high-velocity SKUs, then expand RFID coverage over time as ROI proves out.
What hardware do I need?
At minimum, a handheld RFID reader (like Zebra RFD40 or similar) and RFID tags. For higher automation, fixed readers at doorways can track inventory movement automatically. Fulfil integrates with most commercial RFID hardware.
Can RFID tags store lot and serial information?
Yes. RFID tags can encode SKU, lot number, serial number, and other data. Fulfil reads this information during scans for complete traceability. This is especially useful for regulated industries or products with expiration dates.
