Inventory Management

Bundle & Kit Management

Sell bundles without tracking separate bundle inventory. Fulfil calculates buildable quantity from components automatically, so you never oversell a bundle because one item ran out.

Since we sell sports nutrition supplements, we oftentimes like to put together bundles that customers can purchase at a discount. With our previous solution, we didn't have the ability to set up bundles in a way that would track the individual component inventory. Fulfil completely gets rid of that problem.

The Bundle Inventory Problem

Manual Bundle Math

If you have 100 of Product A and 50 of Product B, how many "Starter Kits" can you sell? Now multiply that by 50 bundles and 500 SKUs.

Overselling Bundles

You sold 20 bundles but only had 15 of one component. Now you're scrambling to split orders or cancel—damaging customer trust.

COGS Guesswork

What's the true cost of a bundle? Components have different landed costs, and those costs change with each PO. Manual tracking is a nightmare.

How Bundle Management Works in Fulfil

Define what goes in a bundle. Fulfil calculates available quantity from component inventory automatically.

Bundle Types

Pre-Assembled Kits

Bundles assembled in advance and stored as finished goods. Track both component consumption and finished kit inventory.

Built-on-the-Fly

Virtual bundles assembled at pick time. No separate bundle SKU in warehouse—components are picked and packed together per order.

Subscription Boxes

Recurring bundles with rotating contents. Define different component sets for each shipment cycle.

Buildable Quantity Example

Holiday Gift Set Components:
Face Cream (1 per kit) 120 available
Eye Serum (1 per kit) 85 available
Gift Box (1 per kit) 200 available
Buildable Quantity: 85 kits

Limited by Eye Serum (the constraining component)

When Eye Serum sells down, buildable quantity updates automatically across all channels

Accurate Bundle COGS

Bundle cost is the sum of component costs at time of sale—not a static number you set once and forget.

Component-Based COGS

Face Cream $18.50
Eye Serum $22.00
Gift Box + Insert $3.50
Assembly Labor $1.50
Bundle COGS $45.50

True Bundle Margin

Bundle Price $89.00
COGS -$45.50
Shipping Cost -$7.50
Channel Fees (Amazon) -$13.35
Net Margin $22.65 (25.4%)

COGS updates automatically when component costs change

Common Bundle Use Cases

Gift Sets

Seasonal bundles with curated products. Pre-assemble for holidays or build on-the-fly year-round.

Starter Kits

Entry-level bundles to onboard new customers. Track which kits convert to repeat purchases.

Subscription Boxes

Monthly boxes with rotating products. Define component recipes for each shipment cycle.

Wholesale Packs

Multi-unit packs for retail partners. Different quantities for different accounts.

Common Questions

Can a component be in multiple bundles?
Yes. A single SKU can be a component in unlimited bundles. Fulfil tracks total component demand across all bundles and individual sales to calculate true available quantity. When one bundle sells, available quantity for all related bundles updates automatically.
How do returns work for bundles?
Returns can be processed at the bundle level (entire kit returned) or component level (partial return). Inventory is restored appropriately. If a customer returns just one item from a kit, that component goes back to stock while the bundle sale stays recorded.
Can I offer different bundles on different channels?
Yes. You can create channel-specific bundles with different pricing, components, or availability rules. An Amazon bundle might have different contents than your DTC bundle, even if they share some components. Fulfil tracks component inventory across all channel-specific variations.
